2026 Research Day
The 42nd YSE Research Day takes place on April 10, 2026!
We are delighted to celebrate the 42nd Research Day, our annual tradition showcasing the breadth and impact of research at YSE. This event brings our community together to share ideas, highlight student and postdoctoral scholarship, and advance our mission to create “knowledge and leadership for a sustainable future.”
This year’s keynote speaker is Jeffrey J. McDonnell, a globally recognized hydrologist whose work has advanced understanding of watershed processes and the role of water in shaping ecosystems and environmental change. In addition to his keynote address, Dr. McDonnell will have a lunchtime discussion on his book Navigating an Academic Career: A Brief Guide for PhD Students, Postdocs, and New Faculty (available here). Students, postdocs, and faculty are invited to join.
This year, Research Day features over 70 poster and oral presentations from graduate students and postdoctoral affiliates, reflecting the interdisciplinary strength of YSE research.
We hope that this year’s event will inspire you, ignite your curiosity, and leave you with a strong sense of our great community.
Thank you to the YSE Research Day Organizing Committee!
