2025 Research Day

The 41st YSE Research Day takes place on April 11, 2025

Research Day is our yearly opportunity to showcase the diverse, multidisciplinary research conducted at the Yale School of the Environment.

We are exicited to announce that our keynote speaker this year will be Dr. Ticora Jones, Chief Science Officer at the Natural Resources Defense Council. Faculty and students, if you are interested in meeting with Dr. Jones in a group setting, please fill out this form. We also welcome questions from the community for her to answer after her keynote address here

We enthusiastically welcome participation from everyone in our community:
  • MESc and MFS students are required to make 10-minute oral presentations at Research Day in order to fulfill their degree requirements.
  • MEM, MF, and Joint Degree Students are welcome to present original research in either poster or oral presentation formats.
  • PhD Students and Postdocs should consider this an excellent opportunity to offer either a poster or oral presentation.
  • Faculty are encouraged to participate in the rewarding (and entertaining) opportunity to present in “Up-Goer Five” format, making their research accessible to a wider audience.
  • Poster presentations are often underrepresented at Research Day so we encourage you to present a poster. There is a prize for best poster!
Participating in YSE Research Day will enable you to showcase your research in a formal setting with our community - we are really looking forward to hearing about all the amazing work happening at YSE!  In addition to promoting discussion and getting feedback on your work, YSE Research Day is a wonderful resume or CV builder.  Prizes will be awarded for best poster, best master’s talk, and best doctoral presentation.

To participate in Research Day we ask that you update your YSE Hub profile and submit your abstract HERE (log in using CAS, select Your Profile > Edit > Research Day > Add new content item > SAVE). Please submit by 11:59pm EST on Sunday, February 23.
