Special Panels

We encourage participants to submit abstracts for two special panels this year.

“New Haven to New England: Spotlight on Local Research”

This panel is meant to showcase research in all disciplines that focuses on local systems or issues in New Haven County, Connecticut, or broader New England. This panel should be of particular interest to conference attendees from the wider community, including high school students participating in our Pathways to Science partnership. Accordingly, talks in this panel should be developed with an eye to communicating to a broader audience.

“Decolonizing Research”

This panel will highlight FES research that challenges the colonial perspectives, practices, and systems of power that have long characterized Western natural, physical, and social sciences.
